Shiver me timbers! Ruffles are no longer just for pirates like Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean. They are in the shops. Perfect for that new romantic look. They are great if you are flat chested as they add a bit of bulk. However avoid them if you are larger than a cup B because they will make you look huge and not in a good way.

There is no ignoring prints this season, but there are a few things to watch out for depending on your figure.

Avoid large prints on floaty fabrics if you have a big butt. It will turn your butt into a gigantic butt.

Wear small prints in soft fabrics if you have no waist as it will hide this fact.

Yellow is a hot colour this season. It’s a spring colour and suits people with warm and clear colouring, just like bright blue and green.

Bright blue just like bright green is a spring colour. It really suits people with warm and clear colouring. Warm meaning skin which has yellow and golden undertones and clear meaning contrasting hair, eye and skin colours.

This shade of green is one of the main colours to look out for this season. It does not suit everyone though. It suits those of us with “clear” and “warm” colouring the best. Clear colouring is when there is more of a contrast between skin, hair and eye colour. Warm skin tones have yellow undertones. Jessica Simpson has clear and warm colouring . Also known as “spring”. Green also looks best with a tan.

Carrie is dressed in the latest clothes from H&M. She is wearing a black and white striped vest with a denim blazer. The skirt is lace with a black underskirt. This outfit really shows off her waist and suits her pear shaped figure.

Anna looks ultra hip in this ensemble. She bought the leather jacket second hand in San Francisco. The jacket really adds a touch of originality to the outfit. It is well worth searching second shops and market stalls for this kind of item. Anna also loves to shop in H&M and Zara. (Don’t we all…)

Madonna’s new collection at H&M has some great pieces however I’m getting fed up with very low-cut tops and dresses. They are everywhere. It seems that they are all made this way nowadays. It’s alright if you are Madonna but I’m getting fed up of having to wear vests under my new tops and dresses in order to keep my dignity. I prefer men to look at my face not my boobs.

Smocks and leggings are a great look for women who are mostly slim but who have a bigger stomach or butt that they would like to cover up. Pick a smock that has some tailoring to show off the upper part of your body. This prevents a smock from looking like a tent. Here are some great smocks I found at Stylefinder.com.

Smocks are also great if you are pregnant.

It would seem that the 80’s are back this season. Everywhere we turn there are batwing tops, smocks and baggy dresses. The problem is that these kinds of baggy clothes can look like tents or shapeless sacks if not worn in the right way. You are best suited to this trend if you are skinny, though wear with caution. Try to combine baggy items with tighter items such as leggings and show off your waist with a belt. Curvy woman, ie anyone with a bit of meat on them, should probably avoid these items. If you have bit of a stomach these kind of clothes can disguise it but only if the rest of you is quite thin. Make sure you show off your other assets.
